    Using the capacitors connected parallel with threephase asynchronous motor to realize reactive power compensation for raising the total power factor is the widelyused method for increasing the motor operation power factor. Based on the analysis of operation characteristics of highvoltage asynchronous motor in pump station of water conservation project with different load factor, a new method to select the capacity of the capacitor parallel connected with three phase highvoltage asynchronous motor was put forward. Favorable compensation effect of the motor reactive compensation capacity configured by this method was obtained in practical operation.

    The evolutionary game theory is new development of the game theory. It initially arose from biology domain; along with the indepth study, the scientists introduced it into other fields gradually and have unearthed its important significance. There are mainly two methods to research the evolutionary game theory at present, one is analytic method, and another is computerbased simulation method. The Repast is one of the frequentlyused multiagentbased modeling and computer simulation platforms. Using the Repast simulation platform, packet the existed model (copied dynamical equation of state); carry out the simulation study under given conditions; use this method in electricity market to simulate the bidding behavior of the power generation enterprises. During simulation process, the dynamic processes of various power generation enterprises adopting different game strategies were well incarnated by the platform, and finally tended to their own equilibrium. The conclusion obtained by simulation is basically in accord with that obtained by analytic method.

    The implementation procedure of boiler cold start without oil was introduced. The problems of plasma ignition system and MPS190 coal pulverizing system with medium speed mill occurred in cold state and hot state trail running were analyzed, and relevant treatment methods were given. By the combustion adjustment with load, the highefficient, safe and stable operation of the boiler during trail running period was realized. In whole startup debugging period, some key links were realized, which included the cold start and hot start without oil, the pipe blowing, the load rejecting, the combustion stabilizing in low load and the shutdown with variable parameters; a great amount of fuel oil was saved; and favorable economic and social benefits were obtained.

    The application of data mining in thermal power plant was introduced. A data mining algorism based on similarity analysis technology was put forward. On this foundation, the unit economical operation pattern data mining system based on the VS2005 platform and the SQL Server 2005 database was developed. The system structure and functions were analyzed, and the design process of main modules of software system was expounded. The system had been applied in practical production data of power plant successfully, the mining result of unit economical operation pattern was obtained, the incremental mining method was realized, and excellent effects were obtained.

    Three feasible reformation schemes for waste heat utilization of the cylindrical slag cooler in 490 t/h CFB boiler of a power plant were put forward, and their economic efficiencies were analyzed and compared by using the equivalent enthalpy drop method. It is pointed out that the better economic efficiency for waste utilization can be obtained by using the cooling water with temperature as high as possible and its quantity as less as possible. Aiming at the characteristics of the heatsupply unit, a ‘combined switchovertype’ scheme for slag cooler waste utilization was put forward, and the contradiction between the highefficiency and safety of CFB slag cooler waste heat utilization in heatsupply unit was solved effectively. 

    In a north waste incineration power plant, the underground water from deep well was treated by MF+RO+EDI integrated membrane method and used as chemical make up water. The design of the system process, the equipments and the operation conditions were introduced, and the problems existing in the system were analyzed. The practice shows that using the MF+RO+EDI technology, the quality of the output water can perfectly accord with the water quality standard of chemical make up water, and the system operates stably and reliably. 

    The control mode of the steam turbine main steam bypass system of M701F gassteam combined cycle unit manufactured by the Japan Mitsubishi was introduced. Combining with the matched action process of the bypass valve and the main steam control valve during the unit starting up process, the reasons of the fast falling of the water level in middlepressure steam drum were analyzed. The preventive measures and operation proposal were put forward. After adjustment of open speed of the high and middle pressure steam adjusting valve, the fluctuation of the water level in steam drum was decreased effectively, and the unit safe startup and shutdown were ensured. 

    Based on the thermodynamic exergy analysis, the mathematical expression of boiler exergy efficiency was established. For a selected condition, the exergy loss and the exergy efficiency of a 600MW ultrasupercritical boiler were calculated. The calculation shows that the exergy analysis method can reflect various losses and their happening position of power plant boiler more comprehensively. In order to tap the potential of energy conservation and to enhance the economical efficiency of the boiler, the measures for decreasing the exergy loss were put forward.

    There was larger impulsive force in leaning and returning of dumper body in China Huadian Fularji General Power Plant, which can damage the vehicles and the equipment. A reformation scheme was proposed, in which the original fixed dumper backup plate was replaced by removable backup plate, and the plate was driven by hydraulic pressure cylinder. After the reformation, the impulsive force in dumper and returning were eliminated completely, and the equipment operation became more stable.

    Aiming at the fault of oil pressure falling in unit No.2 of Baotou Power Generation Branch of Inner Mongolia Huadian Energy Corporation Limited, under the premise of safety of main machine, the lubrication oil system test was carried out to make prejudgment. And after the unit shutdown, the oil system was inspected, and it was found that the power oil inlets of oil ejectors No.1 and No.2 of main machine lubrication oil system of unit No.2 were blocked by foreign bodies. The reason of lubrication oil pressure falling was found, the problem was solved successfully. 

Using the neural network model to estimate its total investment, and carrying out the economical and technical comparison on various kinds of units by using the wind farm life cycle costbenefit model, the optimized unit type selection can be realized. Taking the unit type selection of a wind farm as an example, the optimized method was analyzed and demonstrated, the result shows that the method is feasible and has theoretical and practical values.
