    According to the research about the recent developments of environmental protection technology in developed countries, the newest environmental protection technology for 600MW and 1000MW units in their thermal power plant were introduced. The design characteristics and technical routes for the environment friendly power plants were summarized, and a revelation was obtained that the environmental technique routes should be pluralism, and the comprehensive environment protection process conceptions for coal fired power plant should be set up. An outlook on the development of efficient flue gas treatment system for our thermal power units was given in this article.

    To eliminate the bypass is an inevitable trend of flue gas desulphurization development in coal fired power plant. Two typical general arrangements of flue gas desulphurization equipment without bypass were introduced. The influence of elimination the bypass on the generator unit and flue gas desulphurization equipment was analyzed. Three measures for raising the reliability and safety of flue gas desulphurization equipment without bypass were proposed. Finally, the economical efficiency of flue gas desulphurization equipment with bypass and without bypass were compared and analyzed, and it was pointed that the cost of the flue gas desulphurization equipment without bypass is far lower than one with bypass.

    Combining with the variation of coal actually fired in thermal power plant during last years, it is explained by example that when the coal quality varied, not only the variation of sulfur content must be considered, but also the influence of the low heat productivity of the coal on the mass concentration of SO2 must be taken into account.     Single row tube is one kind of basic heat exchange element for direct air cooled condensers (ACC). The research on the flow and heat transfer performance in air side of the single row tube is of great importance for the optimal design of air cooled condensers. By using the FLUENT numerical heat transfer software, the three dimensional numerical simulation for air side of single row tube under the conditions of different fin spacing was accomplished, and its flow field and temperature field were analyzed and studied. The result can be used as reference for optimal design of direct ACC system.

    Aiming at the features of supercritical unit control, the operation principle and control strategy of feedwater control system in 600MW No.1 supercritical onethrough boiler of Fengtai Power Generation Branch Office of Huaizhe Coalelectric Corporation Limited were introduced. Based on the Star-90 simulation platform, the rationality of the control strategy was verified by simulation experiment.     The principle of fault component is widely applied in microcomputer protection. The fault components exist in fault component network. Therefore, it is necessary to establish the fault component network for short circuit fault, and to draw the phasor diagram of current and voltage fault component of fault point. Then according to the concept of symmetrical components, the zero sequence, positive sequence and negative sequence fault components of current and voltage can be obtained, and this is helpful for understanding the microcomputer protection based on the fault component principle.

    The future trend of the distributed automation system is adopting the IEC 61850 standard to realize seamless communication in the substation and between the substation and every node of the distributed system. The IEC 61850 protocol has very high requirement for sample value synchronization accuracy. The IEEE 1588 protocol was introduced and analyzed. A separate timing index generator was established, and “sideclock”function for exchanger was realized. A new accurate time synchronization scheme was proposed which is in accordance with the IEEE 1588 protocol and can be used in distributed system protection communication, and the software and hardware structure modes were given. The realization of the IEEE 1588 protocol was accomplished by using microcontroller, and the requirement of sample value synchronization of distributed protection communication system based on IEC 61850 protocol should be satisfied.

To adopt optimal design and to break through the traditional convention is becoming inexorable trend. The optimal design demands to break through the habitual thinking. Based on safety and stable operation, taking the general benefit as starting point, according to the goals of simplifying processing system, optimizing the layout; decreasing the plant area and reducing the project initial investment and operation cost, the optimal design and the innovative design should be developed to ensure the economical benefit optimization of the investment and operation.

    Dongfeng Hydropower Plant has played a role of break point of south power grid and north power grid of Guiyang for ages. In its safety stability device, there is a tactics to treat the “one line tripping and another line overloading” accident of east main double circuit which is very important for thermal stability and safety of 220kV output cables of Dongfeng Hydropower Plant. In 2008, August 29, the east main circuit No.2 tripped, and then the east main circuit No.1 was overload, but the safety stability device of Dongfeng Hydropower Plant didn’t execute the established overload treatment tactics. The reason of the accident and the antiaccident measures were analyzed and introduced, and a proposal about the criterion of relevant tactics for the device was put forward.

    In a certain power plant,after an automatic air switch in secondary circuit of potential transformer of 6kV auxiliary working bus section of No.7 unit trip was discussioned. The distributed control system had mistake the fault for that the voltage of auxiliary working bus section is cut off, and sent out operation instruction to trip the 6kV power breaker. In the process of voltage interrupt and transfer of working bus section, the coal feed breaker tripped due to the momentary voltage interrupt, and this lead the main fuel tripping protection breaker to trip. At last, the Unit was disconnected with the system. The reason of this accident outage was analyzed, and the preventive measures of similar accident were proposed.

    The rotary air preheater leakage ratio of Datang Hancheng Second Power Generation Corporation Limited were greatly exceeded the designed value, and this seriously influenced on economical benefit of the power plant. The reason of air-preheater leakage was analyzed, and a reformation method by using flexible contact-type sealing technology was presented. Based on the comparison of air leakages and economical benefits before and after reformation, it can be confirmed that the application of flexible contact type sealing technology in rotary air preheater reformation is successful.
