    According to the requirements of quick starting of the peak shaving power plant and the requirement of fire protection and explosion prevention for the gasfired unit, combining with the practical situation of the unit, some technical data, such as the practical space volume occupied by the gas turbine and the heat recovery boiler, the air flow for purging of the gas turbine at the purging rotate speed, the purging air replacement ratio and so on, were analyzed. The time needed for gas turbine purging was reconfirmed. According to the final calculation result, the gas turbine purging time was shortened from 15min to 10min. The starting time of the unit was shortened, and the startup speed of the peak shaving power plant was improved.

    Some difficult problems exist in operation condition control of chemical water system of head recover boiler in gassteam combined cycle unit, which include that the cation conductivity of the steam exceeds the standard, the steam in the steam drum contains water, it is more difficult to control the quality of water and steam during startup stage and so on. Starting from the target of ensuring the healthy and safety of the unit equipments, by the thermochemical test and the evaluation in depth, the safe and effective standard of operation condition control of the chemical water system and the flexible monitoring system were established.

    Aiming at the problem of flameout rotating speed rising of 9E gas turbine, the shutdown history data of the gas turbine were analyzed. The shutdown procedure and the characteristic parameters of the function modules of Mark V control system were studied. By online test and dynamic modification repeatedly, the parameters matched with the current status of the gas turbine were found out finally, and the gas turbine can be stopped at normal flameout rotating speed. Due to the solving of this problem, the reliability of the Mark V control system for the gas turbine was improved and the safe and stable operation of the unit was ensured.

    An accidental shutdown occurred in operation of the S109FA gas turbine of a power plant. By inspection, it was found that the coupler bolt between the gas turbine and the gas compressor fractured. According to analysis, the reason of the bolt fracture was determined as below, there was slight scratch on the bolt surface formed in transportation and installation processes, the element Cadmium gathered in the scratch area and caused the metal became brittle; and in operation, the too large vibration caused the crack extended and the bolt fractured at last.

    The current transformer for the smallcapacity transformer in a 220kV system was configured improperly. When the fault occurred, the current transformer saturated seriously, which led the protection refused to trip or tripped incorrectly and caused the fault enlargement. In order to ensure the reliability of the protection, the current transformer and the protection configuration must be improved. Aiming at the difficulties in the improvement, the improvement scheme of the current transformer and the improvement scheme of the protection configuration were proposed. The implementation of the improvement schemes can increase the reliability of the protection greatly.

    Two cooling fans with 50% capacity for the turbine shell and exhaust frame were designed originally for the 9E gas turbine of Shanghai Fengxian Gas Turbine Power Generation Company Limited. If the frame cooling fans malfunctioned during operation of the gas turbine and caused the cooling air flow lose or decrease suddenly, then the heat conditions of the exhaust frame and the cylinder of the unit will vary, and the service life of the components in the thermal pass will be affected greatly. The cooling system for turbine shell and exhaust frame of the gas turbine and the Mark V control system were studied in depth. An optimization scheme, which is to add a domestic fan with 50% capacity, was adopted, and the hidden trouble of the system was removed.

    In a power generation company, the dedicated fault recorder was not configured for the smallcapacity generatortransformer set, and this does not accord with the rule of the file DL/T 553—1994, ‘The technical criteria for transient fault recording in 220~500kV power system’. Therefore, several improvement plans were put forward. Various improvement plans were analyzed and compared with each other from many aspects, such as the analog variable connected into the fault recorder, the installation sites, the number of the fault recorders, the access positions of the analog variables and the length of the secondary cable. The best improvement plan was recommended and implemented.
