    The thermal power plants pay high attention to the difference of the calorific value between asreceived coal and asfired coal. The proper control for the difference of the calorific value is of active significance to reduce the generation cost and promote the safe and stable operation of the power plant. Starting from the sampling, the reasons of the larger difference of the calorific value between asreceived coal and asfired coal were analyzed. The relevant countermeasures were proposed, and the index of the difference of the calorific value was improved considerably.

    Based on summary of the coal supply situation of the Yunnan province, according to the demand of the boiler combustion adjustment, aiming at the main technical characteristics of the 300MW subcritical boiler of the Yunnan Huadian Kunming Power Generation Corporation Limited, the management and control of the asreceived coal were enhanced. The coalblended burning was expounded in detail from several respects, such as to satisfy the emission requirement, to ensure the stability of the boiler operation, to enhance the adaptability of the boiler to the coal grade and etc. The practical experiment of the coalblended burning adjustment was carried out, and excellent result was obtained.

    The coal jamming in boiler minerun bin will greatly decrease asfired fuel quantity,the coal jamming occurred in two or more coal bins will cause the flameout fault in boiler, which will seriously influence the safety operation of boiler and increase the consumption of combustion supporting oil. the analysis that the reasons of coal jamming include the change of coal variety (decrease in the coal partical size, increase in the water content) and the unreasonable local design of coal handling system ,etc. Aiming at the abovementioned reasons, the countermeasures have been adopted, and the good results were obtained.

    In order to save energy and reduce the house service consumption rate, the condensate pumps of 2×300MW thermal power generation units of Yunnan Huadian Kunming Power Generation Corporation Limited were reformed using variable frequency technology. The modification and perfection of the thermal process control logic and the operational picture in the variable frequency reformation for the condensate pumps were introduced, and concrete requirements for operators were put forward. After the variable frequency reformation of the condensate pumps, the thermal process control logic became perfect and easy to operation, obvious energysaving effects were obtained.

    By using the technique of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), the numerical computations of three dimensional heat transfer and mass transfer in the cooling tower were carried out. Based on these, the reformation for optimized matching of the cooling air and the circulating water inside the cooling tower was accomplished; the excellent water distribution and air distribution were realized, the heat exchange efficiency was increased, the cooling effect had become higher than the designed value, and the outlet water temperature was greatly reduced, the gross coal consumption rate was decreased, and the unit operation economical efficiency was raised.

    For long time the operation mode of 300MW steam turbine of Yunnan Huadian Kunming Power Generation Corporation Limited was below rated load. Using experiment method the sliding pressure operation curve for the best steam pressure was found out, and the relation between opening of steam turbine governing valves and the largest thermal efficiency was obtained. The application of sequence valve controlling for steam turbine governing valves tremendously decreases the throttling loss of single valve operation, and increases the thermal efficiency of steam turbine.
