    The process and features of startup through intermediate pressure(IP)cylinder of two 600MW units in some power plant project phase I were presented.The faults occurred in the process of startup through IP cylinder were analyzed in detail, and the relevant treatment measures were proposed. At last, it was pointed out that the tartup through IP cylinder is a safer and more economic way for unit startup.

    In this paper the design features of the starting system of 600MW supercritical boiler with boiler circulating pump were introduced, the related advantages and disadvantages in the design were pointing out. A design reformation method was proposed, in which the boiler circulating pump was eliminated and the feedwater heat regenerative was used to recovery heat and working medium,the initial investment and maintenance cost were decreased due to the reformation.

    For the 600MW supercritical units with boiler with dryash furnace of Huaian Xiangfan Power Generation Corporation Limited,there are no slag well and shut down valve at the furnace bottom, the water seal at the bottom has to be destroyed and the slag has to be discharged when the ashconveyor was breakdown, otherwise the boiler has to be shutdown for overhauls. Summing up the experiences and lessons of the former failures, the counter measures were developed, it has been avoided to boiler overtemperature and MFT in the ashconveyor faults.

    The low pressure cylinder of ultra supercritical unit in Yuhuan Power Plant of China Huaneng Group has larger contour structure size.By adopting rationale method and scientific welding process: CO2 gasshield welding + synchronous section backwards welding process, the deformation in assembling and welding of low pressure cylinder was controlled effectively, the deformation values were smaller than the design values. This experience could be a useful reference for the assembling and welding of other ultra supercritical unit.

    The principle of work of slight oil ignition device is introduced. The main technological parameters, the system structure and main devices were expounded elaborately. Based on these, the analysis and calculation for economic benefit were carried out. The application of this technique brought a fuel saving ratio above 90%, comprehensive energysaving benefit about 80%, cost saving more then 2 million yuan (RMB), the upstanding results have been obtained in economy and social effects.

    The structure characteristics of waste heat boiler exchange module in S109FA gas turbine combined cycle units were introduced. Based on the mechanism of damage, design of pipe bundle, influence of operation conditions, quality of welding, the damage reasons of the middle header outlet tube in the left of the high-pressure superheater 2 were analyzed. The purpose of protecting the pipe bundle from leakage was reached by improving the structure, welding process and optimum operation.

    In Thermal Power Plant of Power Division of Guangzhou Branch of China Petroleum&Chemical Group, the vibrations of No.3 and No.4 shafts of No.1 turbogenerator set were higher and influenced the unit’s safety operation. After field test of high speed balance by double balance method, obvious effect has been obtained, the shaft vibration values have reached favorable level. The experiment method can be considered as a reference to check and treat faults for unit’s safe operation.

    The automatic voltagevar control system(AVC) which was newly used in Guangdong Huizhou Liquefied Natural Gas Power Corporation Limited is the first experimental unit project of China Southern Power Grid. The running mode, the adjustment principle, the logic composing of the AVC automatism equipment and the communication among systems was introduced in this article. The electric power system voltage and the reactive power reserve were held in rather higher level through the application of the AVC system. The security of the power grid and the stability of the generator set were greatly improved.

    The development of Ethernet was introduced. The redundancy, openness, extensibility and reliability of Ethernet were analyzed. Based on this, the application of industrial Ethernet in Zouxian Power Plant of Huadian International Corporation Limited Phase IV Project was described in detail. The description shows that automation level of power plant is raised greatly by application of Ethernet in thermal power plant, and a good result is obtained.

    Multiaxial jetgrouting impervious wall is a new vertical seepage prevention technique developed on the basis of multiheader paddling pile technique which has advantages of higher work efficiency, lower construction cost, complete wall body and good continuity, and is dam seepage prevention technique worthy to be generalized. The application of this technique in the reinforcement project of south segment of Hanjiang NorthSouth Dam in Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province was introduced, the selection process of design scheme and the construction of experimental section were analyzed. The result of the scheme was excellent.

    The function of premodule crude oil back pressure regulating valve is to satisfy the requirements of flow rate and pressure of crude oil for fuel selecting module by adjusting the bypass oil flow from crude frontmounted pump outlet. Because the control pipe is so petty that blockage is easy to occur,there were some other faults, such as membrane aged and broken, pressure unsteady, etc. in the system. So the reformation was carried out in 2007, the regulating valves was backout, frequency conversion control was used for fuel flow rate adjusting. Two altering way reformation scheme were introduced and their advantages and disadvantages were analyzed, and the existing problems were pointed out in this paper.

    Now electric disconnector were applied in all modern substations, combining with FivePrevention Interlocking System to get safety and convenience as well as relieving labor intensity, but potential safety hazards would exist if the design for the control circuit of motordriven disconnecting switch was unreasonable. The disconnecting switch misoperation was happened due to earthing of its operation circuit when the disconnecting switch was installed in a line.     At present, the sulfur content of coal in the actual operation of limestonegypsum wet desulphurization system is often far greater than the design value, which leads to the bypass opening operation because of the limitation of adaptive capacity for changes of sulfur content rate. In this paper, improving the design margin to suit the possible changes in sulfur content rate of coal was proposed for new projects. Searching for the optimal scheme by technoeconomic comparison based on local conditions was suggested for renovation projects explained by the real project.

    The reasons of higher NOx concentration emission of two 670t/h pulverized coal fired boilers in Shengli Power Generation Plant of Shengli Petroleum Administration of phase 1 were analyzed. The process of dramatic reducing NOx concentration by optimizing combustion was introduced. After jet burner changing to "horizontal bias air combustion pulverized coal burner", and then staging air and staging powder transfer to optimize combustion, the decreasing amplitude of concentration NOx emission reached to 40%, the obviously effect in reducing boiler NOx emission was gained.
